Professor Mikihito Takenaka holds a Doctor of Engineering degree, serving as Professor at the Institute for Chemical Research, Kyoto University, and joint professor of Polymer Chemistry at Graduate School of Engineering. He once served as President of the Society of Rubber Industry, Japan. He completed all his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in polymer chemistry at Kyoto University, and previously worked at Japan New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization. His research focuses on polymer physics and soft matter, including block copolymer self-assembly, filler network structure in rubber, polymer crystallization, viscoelasticity, and 3D structural characterization via X-ray/neutron scattering and synchrotron SAXS-CT in-situ imaging for adhesive interfaces. He has led multiple national JSPS research grants, published over 300 peer-reviewed SCI papers, and acts as board member of the Society of Polymer Science and Society of Rheology Japan. He frequently organizes international academic exchanges with polymer and rubber researchers across China and Asia.
